International Day of Provenance Research 2020

As a result of the COVID-19 outbreak and the intensified preventive measures to avoid a rapid spread of the virus, public institutions, especially museums, libraries, archives and universities, have now cancelled their events for the coming weeks or announced their temporary closure. The Arbeitskreis Provenienzforschung e.V. supports these measures, which is why the 2nd Day of Provenance Research cannot be maintained in the planned form this year despite the impressive number of international applications.

We appeal to all participants who have not already cancelled to refrain from events on April 8, 2020. If this is possible under the given circumstances, we recommend that the use of digital forms of presentation or social media channels could be considered instead. For example, you can find a call for blogspots here.

The executive board of the Arbeitskreis Provenienzforschung e. V. will issue a press release on the occasion of the Day of Provenance Research to honour the broad and diverse commitment. We would be pleased if some projects could nevertheless be realised at a later date and will be happy to communicate this via our homepage in due course.

Enclosed the press release on the 2nd International Day of Provenance Research.
