Kurzbeschreibung
This workshop is designed to guide Master’s degree students at Sotheby’s Institute of Art through the cryptic world of provenance, helping them to decode its meaning. Using the AAM Guidelines, students will learn how to read provenance statements before, ultimately, going on to write their own. Students will also learn about artistic interventions in provenance — from Hans Haacke to Maria Eichhorn — and discuss how scholars/artists/curators might best communicate their research to the public.
