Kurzbeschreibung
The talk reconstructs the biography of Venetian art dealer Adolph Loewi. It aims to investigate the persecution endured by Adolph Loewi throughout the two World Wars and will provide an analysis of the provenance research concerning the artworks taken from his collection during World War I. Furthermore, newly identified networks will be discussed, which connect actors in Munich, Venice, and the United States to the trade and dispersal of Loewi family’ collection.
